Reminder:  The Harvest Picnic is this evening from 5:00 – 7:00pm.  There will be a barbeque and snacks.  I hope to see you all there! 

Notes:                                                                                                                                         *Any students in my homeroom class that have not brought their forms back (signed) please remember to do so as soon as possible.                                                                                   *Any students in my homeroom class that have not yet paid their student fees please bring your $20 in as soon as possible. 

English 300:  Unit 1 spelling test tomorrow.   We have just started a novel study on the novel “Forbidden City” by William Bell.  Students will be expected to do some reading/ several assignments at home. 

Science 300: We are currently working on Unit 1: Matter.  Students should have “booklet #1: Matter” completed and handed in by tomorrow.  We will be starting section 1.5: Density on Monday.

History 300:  We have started with chapter 10: Economics.  Students need to have their opportunity cost package completed by Monday. 

English 431x:  Students should have their grammar review completed and handed in by tomorrow.  We will begin brainstorming and descriptive writing on Monday. 

Math 431:  We are still working on Gross Pay.  Any students that are having troubles or have any questions can see me for extra help any day at lunch.

Can you believe it’s time to go back to school already?   I hope you all  had a wonderful summer.  I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on September 8!  P.S. Remember to bring your student fees so you can get your locker.  The fee is $20.00.   This money should be in as soon as possible.

*Notice:  On Friday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m.  Morell Regional  will be holding our Annual Prize Bingo in aid of our school yearbook .  We are asking families to donate a prize for the Bingo if possible.  All donations can be dropped off at the School and your support would be greatly appreciated.

English 431A:  We are continuing to work on the “Hero” unit from Crossroads.  We will be having a test at the end of next week, on the selections that we have covered. 
Science 431:  We are currently working on Unit 4: Weather Systems.  All students should be on section 4.3. 
Geography 431:  Students should be ready to write the 5/6 test next week.
Family Life 421:  Students should be ready to write the chapter 16 test by the end of next week.
English 531:  We are working on a novel study for In the Heat of the Night.  Any students that have not  completed their chapter 5/6 assignment and questions should do so asap.  The chapter 1-6 test needs to be written by Tuesday of next week. 

Biology 631:  Students should be working on chapter 16.
Housing 621:  All students should be working on their final housing project.  If you have not received the outline come see me asap.

March 2, 2009

English 431A:  All students have started the class novel “Of Things Not Seen.”  Everyone should now be working on chapter 3, with all questions and assignments from previous chapters complete.  Students  should have 2 journals completed and be prepared to write their Unit 2 Spelling test this week. 

Science 431:  Students can continue working on Unit 1.  All students should be on section 1.8, if not further along.   Students should now be reviewing their materials in preparation for the Unit 1 Test which will probably take place next week. 

Geography 431:  Students should be finishing up chapter 1, and should be ready to write their chapter 1 test this week. 

Family Life 421:  Students should all be working on chapter 2, if not further ahead and be ready to write the chapter 2 test in the next few days.   

English 531:   Students should be finishing up their Passages selections.  Students should be reviewing the selections and the terms in preparation for the Passages: Adventure test which should be written this week.  Also students should have 2 journals completed, and be ready to write their Unit 2 Spelling Test this week. 

Math 531:  I will give some extra time tomorrow to finish the ch. 1 test, and then we will be moving on to chapter 2. 

Biology 631:  Students should all be working on chapter 10.  Several students need to see me about corrections on their ch. 10 review.  After this is complete they can write the ch. 10 test.  One student is ready to write the midterm.  This will be given over 2 days. 

Housing 621:  Students should have their chapter 2 assignments into me by now.  Be prepared to write the chapter 2 test by Wednesday.   If students have not received the first section of the outline for the final project, they should see me tomorrow to get it.  It is in the students’  best interest to start this assignment asap, as it is quite time consuming and requires a lot of effort and work. 

English 631: Those students that are fast tracking should be working on assignments at home.   Students should be ready to write the Passages: Communication Test tomorrow.    Students should also have 2 journals completed.

Welcome to 2nd semester! 

English 431A:  Students wrote their first spelling test today.  Everyone did quite well!  I will be handing out Unit 2 words tomorrow.  Most students have started the class novel “Of Things Not Seen.”  Those that have not started it, should be ready to start by tomorow.   

Science 431:  Students can continue working on Unit 1.  All students should be on section 1.4, if not further along. 

Geography 431:  Students should continue working on chapter 1, and should be close to writing their chapter 1 test. 

Family Life 421:  Students should be finishing up chapter 1 and ready to start chapter 2 by Wednesday. 

English 531:  Anyone that did not write their Unit 1 spelling test today should be prepared to write it tomorrow.  Continue  working on Passages selections.  Students should be reviewing the selections and the terms in preperation for the Passages: Adventure test. 

Math 531:  Continue working on chapter 1 questions. 

Biology 631:  Students should have their chapter 9 study guide and review handed in to me in the next couple of days so I can correct it and hand it back before the chapter 9 test. 

Housing 621:  Students should have their chapter 1 assignments into me by now.  Be prepared to write the chapter 1 test by Wednesday.  I will have the outline for the final project ready to be handed out at the end of the week. 

English 631: Those students that are fast tracking should be working on assignments at home.   Students should soon be ready to write the  Passages: Communication Test.

Welcome to Term 2!  I hope everyone’s exams went well!

English 300: We have started a novel study on the book Hatchet.  Students should presently be on chapter 5 and have chapter 1-4 questions handed in. 

English 431X: We are currently working on narrative writing.  Students should have class notes copied down and should be working on narrative writing assignment # 1.  I will go over all first drafts with students,  before the final draft is typed up.   

English 531: Novel study on In the Heat of the Night should be finished up this week.  We will be doing some work on grammar and then working with the literature from Passages.

Science 300: We are working on chapter 2.  Students should be finishing this chapter up, and be prepared to write the chapter 2 test by next week.

History 300: Students will be starting chapter 11 this week. 

English 431A: We will be having our Unit 8 spelling Test on Monday as several students were absent on Thursday.  Students should have their newspaper assignment completed at the beginning of next week. 

Math 561: Excellent work on Test # 4!  I will be passing out the Term 2 outline on Monday. 

Housing 661: Continue copying class notes.  See me for the next assignment

Housing 621: Students can continue working on assignments.  Also, start thinking about their scrapbooks. 

Biology 631: Students should be ready to start chapter 15. 

English 631: Continue working on assignments from Passages

Geography 431: Students should have all chapter 1 terms completed and be working on chapter 1 assignment.

English 300: Any students that have not passed in their short story assignment should do so asap.   Unit 9 spelling test on Friday.  Students should have 8 journals in total by next Thursday (Nov 13).  We will be reviewing for the midterm on Friday and Monday.  Midterm will be written on Wednesday or Thursday of next week. 

English 431X: Unit 9 spelling test on Friday.  There are a few students that still need to complete several assignments before the end of this week. Students should have 8 journals in total by next Thursday (Nov 13).  We will be reviewing for the midterm on Friday and Monday.  We will discuss when the midterm will be written. 

English 531: Unit 9 spelling test on Friday.  Students should have 8 journals in total by next Thursday (Nov 13).  Continue working on In the Heat of the Night chapters 9&10.  We will review for the midterm on Thurdsday and Friday.  Midterm will be written on Monday. 

Science 300: Students should still be working on chapter 2. 

History 300: Students need to hand in chapter 10 final assignment, and then start working on chapter 11. 

English 431A: Unit 7 spelling test on Friday.  Students should have 8 journals in total by next Thursday (Nov 13).  All students should be finished reading Of Things not Seen and have all chapter questions and activities ready to be handed in on Thursday.  We will review for the midterm Friday and Monday, and the midterm will be written next Thursday. 

Math 561: Continue working on assigned problems.

Communications: Continue working on assignments.  Final speech will be presented next week.

English 300:  Unit 8 Spelling Test on Friday.  Any students that didn’t finish their Remembrance Day projects need to finish them asap.  Short Story assignments are due at the end of this week.  Remember to pass in brainstorming sheet, first draft and second draft.   

English 431X:  Unit 8 Spelling Test on Friday.  Any students that didn’t finish their Remembrance Day projects need to finish them asap.   Several students need to finish their descriptive writing assignments.  We will be reviewing descriptive writing tomorrow and starting narrative writing next week. 

English 531:  Unit 8 Spelling Test on Friday.   Continue working on In the Heat of the Night.   Start reviewing the literature from Passages to prepare for the midterm. 

Science 300:  Continue working on unit 2.  Students should have completed section 2.1 by now, and be working on section 2.2. 

History 300:  Students should all be working on the chapter 10 final assignment.  I will go over the second part of the assignment tomorrow. 

English 431A:  Unit 6 Spelling Test on Friday.  Students should have up to chapter 13 questions/activities passed in at the end of this week. 

Math 561: Test # 3 tomorrow on Numeration!  Any questions see me first thing in the morning.  Remember to get sheet signed. 

Communications:  Should be prepared to present Speech # 2 (2 minutes) tomorrow at lunch.

English 300:  We are currently working on Remembrance Day assignments.  These need to be completed on Monday.   Next week we will continue on with the short story assignments.

Science 300:  We watched a Bill Nye video today on atoms and students are working on chapter 2. 

History 300:  Students are still working on chapter 10.  Everyone should be working on the final assignment.
