Grade 9 English:
Students finished learning about similes and metaphors and completed an assignment today to demonstrate their knowledge. On Monday we will start working on a public service announcement assignment. In groups of no more than 4 people, students will create a commercial warning the public about the dangers of distracted driving. I will go over this in more detail, and provide examples on Monday.
Grade 9 English:
Today students should have finished up their questions to the short story “And the Lucky Winner is…” Those students that did not finish them in class need to finish these for homework and hand them in at the beginning of class tomorrow. We also started working on similes and metaphors today.

Most students finished their vocabulary assignment today, and those that did not finish need to hand it in tomorrow.
Students also started some response questions to the story “And the Lucky Winner is…”

Today students worked on a summary of the short story “And the Winner is…”. Students also started a vocabulary assignment (in partners) that will be completed tomorrow.
Grade 9 English:
Students read “And the Lucky Winner is…” today in class. Tomorrow we will start some activities with this story.
Grade 9 English:
Students should have passed in their assignment from “Wooden Bones” by the end of today. As well, the cyber bullying assignment is due first thing Monday morning.
